After an 11 year hiatus, Shaquille O'Neal's first signature shoe is back to grace the feet of the next generation– the Reebok Shaq Attaq. Constructed in its signature leather and suede, this sleek design is topped off with an iconic Reebok Pump basketball on the tongue. The rubber outsole ensures lasting wear and dependable grip. Wt. 17.5 oz.

Reebok hitched to a rising star when it signed Shaquille O'Neal and produced his first signature sneaker, the Shaq Attaq, in 1992. Those who fondly remembered the shoe had a chance to pick it up anew when Reebok released a retro in August 2013.

In August 2013, Reebok released a retro of the iconic Shaq Attack. This shoe was not only remembered for its style and performance but also for the player it represented.

In 1992, Reebok signed an endorsement deal with Shaquille O’Neal, a former LSU student entering his rookie season with the Orlando Magic. Reebok saw he was no ordinary rookie, standing at 7-foot-1 and 325 pounds, and knew it had to do something special for his shoe line. That year, Reebok released O’Neal’s first signature shoe: the Reebok Shaq Attack.

“From our perspective, endorsing Shaq was a very, very bold move as traditionally smaller guys got shoe deals. But there was something special about Shaq and all of his enormity. We knew it would be a missed opportunity had we not endorsed him, and an even bigger miss had we not designed signature shoes that were ‘far left of center.’ ” – Reebok

The Shaq Attack soon would become a famous basketball shoe, both because of Shaq’s dominance in the NBA and because of its unique look.

Although the Shaq Attack became known for its style, the shoe also packed some noteworthy technology features.

One of the major features in the Shaq Attack was the introduction of Graphlite, a lightweight rubber material that helped make the shoe less bulky. This was intended to allow players to move more quickly without having their shoes get in the way.

Reebok Pump technology was included in the tongue. This would allow the wearer to control the air pressure, which was supposed to create a more customized fit. But Shaq was the only one who got to wear the orange Pump logo.
