Founded in 1908, Converse started its humble beginnings as a rubber shoe company specializing in galoshes. Not too long after, they started using their rubber to make sneakers. In 1920, Converse renamed their canvas basketball sneaker the “All Star” and the name stuck and revolutionized the sneaker as we know it. The basketball sneaker then became so much more to the consumer. They started wearing this shoe for everything, whilst playing music, whilst kicking a soccer ball around the park, whilst out for a day shopping.
The Converse “All Star” became an all round footwear essential, a must have in the wardrobe of the everyday consumer. Consumers customized these sneakers with their personal style. They did everything to them, and in them and established this sneakers’ unlimited potential.
And today the Converse free spirit continues as this brand is on trend and a hit in the casual footwear sector. The famous canvas lace up boot is still alive and ticking, as it continues to be an “All Star” on the world stage.
