KingGee was founded in 1926 by Robert Adcock. The name reportedly originated from an expression meaning "tops", and the name of the reigning monarch at the time, King George V. Throughout the early 1940s, KingGee created the first of its workwear garments, the original KingGee overall. The initial range of KingGee workwear options were known to be well crafted and high-quality, and KingGee went on to manufacture products for the Department of Supply in order to support Australia's World War II effort. In the late 1940's, KingGee expanded its range to featured more casual clothing items such as shorts and dust coasts. During the 1970's and 1980's, KingGee was well cemented as an Australian workwear staple. Their popular "Originals" range was advertised to ensure comfort, durability and functionality with the iconic slogan "If they were any tougher they'd rust". KingGee takes pride in continually innovating to bring Australian tradies the comfort and reliability they need as modern worksites evolve. No campaign demonstrated this willingness to pivot better than the "For a nation at work" campaign of the 1990's which featured a smart casuals range of polo shirts and more casual workwear options. In the mid 2000's KingGee ventured into the world of safety boots, designing boots with traction, protection and comfort. These boots have become one of the brands most important products and are a favourite amongst many Aussie workers.

2. Composite toe cap

KingGee wide fitting toe caps are extremely tough and offer outstanding durability. A newer option is the KingGee composite toe cap.

Are KingGee boots true to size?

KingGee boots are designed to fit true to size and wearers can typically purchase their usual size with confidence. In addition to offering men and women sizing, KingGee also offer a unisex range. The unisex range does offer a wider fit than standard women's sizes, so women should be aware of this before purchasing.

Are KingGee boots waterproof?

The majority of KingGee work boots are designed to be water resistant. Water resistant materials repel moisture and make it harder to water to penetrate the boots, however they are not entirely waterproof.
