In 1976, New Balance unveiled the 320 running shoe. This shoe represented a turning point for the company as the 320 was named the number one running shoe on the market by Runners World magazine. This caused New Balance shoes to explode in popularity.

While the company has stayed true to its running shoe roots, they have since expanded into work shoes, skate shoes, athleisure shoes and walking shoes. How to clean New Balance shoes?

New Balance shoes are delightfully low maintenance, however care must still be taken when cleaning your shoes. For best cleaning results we recommend these steps:

1. Use a light bristled brush (such as a toothbrush) with a mild laundry detergent or dishwashing liquid.
2. Spot check the cleaning solution you've created to ensure it does not stain the material.
3. Lightly scrub shoes with the cleaning solution and brush.
4. Wipe shoes clean with a clean, soft towel.
5. Allow shoes to dry thoroughly (this may take up to 24 hours).

It is not recommended to put your New Balance shoes in a washing machine.
